SILVER
In 1995 Argentini, following a particular inspiration, cover's his models with silver make-up. The flexibility of these women contrasts with the rigid element of metal resulting in a fascinating series of photography. The models are dancers, gymnasts and trapeze artists, transformed by silver paint into metallic statues. The fluidity of the human body and the metallic element create a surreal world of great natural beauty. With this work Argentini became internationally renowned, evoking the work of Brancusi and the ballet sketches of Degas, these photographs merge the solidity of sculpture and the vital energy of dance.
