Color and texture radically affect how we perceive shapes. While looking for an innovative approach for a 1995 Miami photo shoot, master photographer Guido Argentini was asked to dress a model in silver makeup. The result was as beautiful as it was intriguing: the soft grayish tones highlighted corners and surfaces in an otherworldly way. Inspired by the results, Argentini has created a whole series of silver-colored models. In doing so, he discovered a new perspective for nude photography. Evoking Brancusi's luminous smooth planes and the verve of Degas's ballet sketches, these photographs infuse the human body with both the solidity of sculpture and the vivid energy of dance.
